14 Feb 2007 1.7 GFDL 5.1 Gayle Wittenberg
The storm of the winter was a complex one, which could be divided,
like Gaul, into three parts: 1) snow, falling lightly in Central NJ
on the 13th . this arose from a storm in the Ohio Valley and produced more
snow to out south (and in the Midwest) ; 2) a secondary low developed in the
Carolinas, intensified rapidly and passed just east of the NJ shore on the way
to SE Massachusetts . This resulted in a prolonged period of sleet here (but
little or no freezing rain) on the 13th and 14th, with massive snow in upstate
NY; 3) a changeover to snow on the 14th as the upper low passed over the area.
Little accumulation occurred. The GFDL measurement (and similar amounts at the
observers' homes) was mostly from (2).
max snow amounts: NJ 7.8" (High Point St Park) and 4.3" (mostly from (1))
(National Park) ; Storm: 42.0" (Stratford, Fulton Co. NY)

wfs=1.2;ds=1.0;rgg=0.9)
A weak secondary storm developed over N Carolina, producing snow, then
freezing rain over the area. max snow amounts: NJ: 4.0" (Wantage,Rivervale) ;
Storm: 4.5" (in MD, NY, CT and RI)
7 Mar 2007 1.2 GFDL 7.6 Adi Benito
This storm passed to the south of New Jersey, producing most snow to our south. Max in the area: 3.0" (Margate City, NJ)
16 Mar 2007 3.8 (ajb=2.7;snf=3.5; 11.4 Ted Terpstra
ds=4.2;wfs=4.7;rgg=msg)
After unusual warmth (79F on Mar 14) a cold front moved slowly through the
area on the 15th, and rain developed. A storm formed in S Carolina late on
the 15th and mover slowly north, reaching SE Mass. by the 16th. Rain changed
to sleet, occasionally mixed with snow, and this persisted for ~18 hours,
resulting in a large and messy sleet accumulation, as in the above
observations. Precip totals exceeded 2 inches, mostly as sleet.
Max snow amounts: NJ 13.5" (Montague); PA 18.0" (Effort,Albrightsville);
NY 24.0" (Windham)
15 Apr 2007 0.2 (snf=0.3; wfs=0.3; 11.6 Ted Terpstra
ds=0.1; ajb=T; rgg=msg)
A strong nor'easter developed in the southeast, mover to the vicinity of
New York City on the 15th, then stalled and slowly moved east. The result was
a massive rainstorm (5-7 inches in central Jersey), pressure falling to ~970 millibars
in the area, and then snow and sleet in the local area. Max snow amounts: NJ 1.2"
(Hopatcong); largest snow amount 19.0" in the Adirondacks (NY).
