Standard Diagnostics File Structure (D)

File data type = 32 bit IEEE

Time = individual time period (i.e., daily, monthly , seasonal, climatology)

KX=number of vertical (unevenly space) sigma levels (kx = 18)

All records consist of ix*iy real words, where ix, iy are the number of longitudes and latitudes respectively, in this case ix,iy = 128,64 for t42.

First longitude starts at the Greenwich meridian and the logitudes are evenly spaced going west to east. Latitudes are Gaussian, going north to south.

For more information regarding GCM details see v197 technical documentation located at http://www.gfdl.gov/~wfs/gfdlsm/DocGFDLSM_v197.html
