Anand Gnanadesikan's Science Olympiad Home Page

Welcome to my Science Olympiad Page!

Over the years, I've been involved a lot in Science Olympiad over the years, as a parent, coach, event supervisor and tournament organizer. I've had the great privilege of working with some wonderful teams of students including the 2005 and 2007 National Champion Community Middle School teams. I'm currently a volunteer coach for West Windsor Plainsboro High School North in Plainsboro, NJ.

This page contains links to a number of key sites for students. It includes links to events which I have run in this and past years as well as coaching resources.

Ecology/Meteorology

One of the topics that appears repeatedly in the ecology and meteorology events is climate classification. I was inspired by teaching this to use it to evaluate the climate models I work on. Here's a link to a paper about it.
