April 2011 - Gabriel Lau traveled to Beijing and Hong Kong to participate in several key events.
In Beijing on April 4-8, Gabriel attended the annual Science Advisory Board meeting at the Beijing Climate Center/China
Meteorological Adminstration, as well as a Forum on Regional Climate Monitoring, Assessment and Prediction for Asia. He gave a
presentation on the processes related to onset of the South Asian Summer Monsoon.
Gabriel then traveled to Hong Kong to take part in a couple special events.
On April 11-15 Gabriel served as chairperson of the visiting committee for reviewing the Geo-information and Earth Science Program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and delivered a keynote speech on the progress in development of earth system models.
At an event held at the Hong Kong Space Museum on April 18th in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong Government, Gabriel gave a public lecture on the current status of climate research.
