Quarterly Summary Report, I49-I63.
Abstract: Comparison is made of the surface deposition patterns over the United States as depicted by observations of Strontium 90 in soil, tritium rainout and Strontium 90 in pot and ion-exchange collectors versus the results generated by the general circulation tracer model from the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. It is found that the three observed data sets exhibit certain common characteristics:
The results of the general circulation tracer model calculations present a reasonable "first depiction" of the details of surface deposition and are very encouraging as an indicator of the transport of such conservative trace substances.
