Notes from Jul 21, 2004
The primary goals of this meeting were to
summarize the status of three ongoing efforts:
Developing the coarse resolution MOM4-ocean and Finite Volume
atmospheric model
Gnandesikan has been attempting this merge with pre-khartoum
code, but it is currently crashing after three time steps.
Completed Action Items:
- Slater gave ocean-atmosphere CO2 exchange presentation
- Maleshev gave land-atmosphere CO2 exchange presentation
- Switch of finite volume model to the standard tracer
manager is complete
- Dunne has compared ocean bgc results with Takahashi maps. View
the comparison
Continuing Action Items:
- Dunne still to run prognostic ocean BGC in OM3 resolution.
- Toggweiler and Dunne still to compare results with World Ocean
Atlas in terms of preformed nutrients over deep water formation regions.
- Gnanadesikan will put together a coarse physical coupled model
with mom4 and the finite volume code
- When Khartoum is available, Dunne and Liu will assembe the
components for a first attempt at an ESM
Additional Action Items:
- Toggweiler to lead discussion on issues relating to the initialization of carbon system
