39. Diagnostics for physical analysis

Physical science is involved with MOM at two central stages. First, there is the formulation of the basic equations of the model, and the physical assumptions inherent in that formulation. The next stage is in the analysis of solutions obtained from the model. It is for the second stage that the analysis tools described in this chapter are designed.
