Climate Variations and Predictability Group

The Climate Variations and Predictability Group seeks to build predictive understanding of variations in global/regional climate and extremes arising from natural modes of climate variability, radiatively forced changes, and their interactions, by: exploring the mechanisms behind, and impacts of, climate variations; building data assimilation methods; improving the fidelity of models; creating and applying prediction tools; and generating methods to assess model quality and forecast skill.
