High Frequency Region Data from CM2.1

High frequency (6-hourly) data from the GFDL CM2.1 model is available for two IPCC AR4 experiments: the historical (20C3M) run for the years 1968 to 2000 and the A2 scenario run from 2038 to 2070. Documentation and references for the the CM2.1 model can be found on the  CM2.X Coupled Climate Model web page.

Data Coverage

Most data is saved on the model’s atmospheric grid except for sea surface fields which have been interpolated from the tri-polar ocean grid to a 1-degree lat-lon grid. Due to the large volume of data the region publicly available covers the North American sector only. Three-dimensional fields have been interpolated to pressure levels.

  • 160°E to 0° longitude
  • 0° to 90°N latitude
  • 1050 mb to 25 mb, every 25 mb (42 levels)
