SHiELD, an experimental globally-uniform ~13 km resolution configuration, is run four times daily out to 10 days with the GFS initial conditions. Additionally, two C-SHiELD Contiguous-US 3-km nested grid forecasts are run each day, and during the Atlantic Hurricane season (July–October) T-SHiELD Atlantic 3-km nested grid forecasts are run four times per day.
