GFDL For You

Inquiries

For all general inquiries, including requests for interviews with GFDL scientists, school groups interested in learning about climate modeling and research, arranging a visit to the lab, please contact the communications team at oar.gfdl.communications@noaa.gov.

Questions about GFDL’s Climate Models and Data

Data from many of our climate model experiments can be found on our Data Portal. If you have questions about using GFDL’s climate models or model data, please contact our Modeling Systems team at gfdl.climate.model.info@noaa.gov.

For Students

Undergraduate Students

GFDL offers limited internship opportunities each summer for undergraduate students. We offer qualified students a chance to work with a scientist-mentor on a research project.

The lab participates in NOAA’s Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship Program. Interested students are encouraged to review the requirements for the Hollings scholarship and, if interested, apply directly to that program.

The lab also participates in Princeton University’s Cooperative Institute for Modeling the Earth System Research Internship Program.  Please see Princeton University’s website for details and to apply for this program.

For undergraduate students considering a graduate degree in disciplines related to climate, atmospheric sciences and oceanography, please see the Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences program, a collaboration between GFDL and Princeton University.

PostDoctoral Research Program

GFDL supports postdoctoral research through our Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences program, in collaboration with Princeton University. Click here for more information on the Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences PostDoc program.
