Research Interests

• sea level – regional patterns and drivers of sea level variability (at monthly to inter-annual timescales), links between coastal sea level change and offshore density/circulation change
• geostrophic turbulence – mesoscale eddy structure and evolution as they are shaped by bathymetric features
• ocean heat uptake and heat transport
• ocean model development – dependence of the realistic simulation of near coast sea level variability on model horizontal and vertical resolution, implementation of a non-Boussinesq framework
• observational physical oceanography – integration of observations collected by satellites, AUVs, profiling floats, and moorings to facilitate the comprehensive analysis of ocean steric and manometric sea level change
